POWER MANAGEMENT
The hybrid powertrain of the Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid beautifully balances energy application, storage and regeneration to deliver the most efficient power in any situation. Combining a petrol engine and electric motor for acceleration or towing, electric motor only for low speeds and energy recapturing for charging batteries during coasting and braking, the systems work in harmony with your needs and the demands of the roads.
POWER SUPPLIED
An Intelligent Dual Clutch System efficiently manages power from both the electric motor and the gas engine. To conserve fuel, the electric motor only is used at start-up and while coasting. During acceleration, passing, or towing, the petrol engine kicks in, working in tandem with the electric motor for optimal performance.
SUPERCHARGED EFFICIENCY
The 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine is supercharged, so as it breathes in fresh air to feed the engine, it cranks out nearly the same amount of power as a V6 engine. To save fuel, it only engages when it needs to, and shuts down to conserve fuel when you are coasting or stopped.
PACKED TIGHT
The electric motor in the Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid is powered by a series of lithium-ion cells housed in a space-saving battery pack. Thanks to this compact design, the battery pack fits right under the floor, so seven-passsenger interior doesn’t lose a single inch of space.
SAVING YOUR STRENGTH
The regenerative braking system captures energy that would otherwise be lost during braking, and uses it to recharge the lithium-ion batteries. The battery pack is also being continuously charged by energy recovered from the decelerating CVT and, when necessary, the gas engine.
HIT THE OFF-ROADS
You can trust in the robust All-Mode 4X4-i, a system that’s as capable on-road as it is off. And the Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid is the only vehicle in its class with selectable driving modes.
Put the All-Mode 4x4-i in 2WD for maximum efficiency. When in Auto Mode, the system constantly monitors conditions and adjusts the balance of power between front and rear wheels for best traction. And 4WD Lock Mode is your choice for the most challenging conditions.
When your travels take you on steeper paths, hill start assist helps prevent rollback when starting and driving away on an incline. Hill descent control helps make going down steep grades more manageable by automatically adjusting your speed and brake pressure to offer a smooth descent at a controlled speed.
